Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef thin sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp water

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Slice the beef into thin strips, cutting against the grain for the most tender texture. Keep slices even in size for uniform cooking.
  3. Wash and cut broccoli into small, even florets. Dry well to prevent excess moisture during baking.
  4. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, black pepper, and water. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
  5. Place the sliced beef and broccoli onto the prepared sheet pan. Spread everything into a single layer so it cooks evenly.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli. Toss gently using tongs or hands until all pieces are evenly coated. Spread back into a single layer.
  7. Transfer the sheet pan to the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Remove halfway through cooking and stir to ensure even cooking.
  8. Switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning while achieving slight browning.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Thin slicing is key for tender beef
  • Do not overcrowd the pan
  • Broiling adds extra flavor and texture
  • Best served fresh and hot
